Dartmouth sits alongside the west
bank of the majestic river Dart with its unique sea faring history
which you can explore by visiting the local castles, museums or the
naval college. You can also enjoy the river on one of the numerous
local ferries or private boat hire or by stepping aboard the steam
railway that follows the spectacular Torbay coast line.
There are beautiful beaches nearby such as the award winning blue
flag Blackpool Sands or the famous Slapton Sands with its miles of
un-spoilt beaches behind which lies the large freshwater lake and
nature reserve home to some of Britain’s rarest birds.
